The Whole Story
The journey to creating Centering Pendants was born from a crossroads in my life.
In 2016, I walked away from a steady day job, ready to build a life around the things that brought me joy: teaching yoga and making jewelry. But it quickly became clear—I couldn’t do both well. I felt torn between two paths, each calling to different parts of me. I kept telling people, “If I’m going to choose making jewelry, it has to have more purpose and meaning.”
At the time, I had also begun a regular meditation practice, and in those quiet moments, I started asking the universe for guidance. I didn’t want to just make pretty things. I wanted my art to be of service. I wanted it to matter.
One day, I was driving home from a therapy session, reflecting on how hard it is for people to stick with practices like yoga or meditation—not because they don’t want to, but because the time commitment is often too much in the middle of a busy life. I found myself asking, how can I help people bring the calm of their practice off the mat and into the small, everyday moments?
As I sat at a red light, holding the steering wheel, I noticed my thumb and forefinger could touch. I extended my other three fingers—and just like that, I was making gyan mudra, a sacred hand gesture that invites calm and clarity in just a few mindful breaths. Then I asked myself, what else could be used to prompt this same gesture?
And in that instant, I saw it. A vision of a two-sided, concave pendant, formed in my mind—one that would naturally guide the fingers into gyan mudra, allowing anyone, anywhere, to pause, breathe, and reCenter themselves.
That was the moment Centering Pendants were born.
It took a few more months—and a lot of courage—but in January of 2017, I made the first one. I wore it daily. Each time I touched it, I repeated the words “I am capable.” That simple practice began to reshape me. It gave me the courage to walk forward as an artist. And over time, it brought me home to myself.
I believe it is my calling to create these pendants and offer them to others who are navigating uncertainty, healing, or simply craving more presence in their lives. I believe the Universe guided me here for a reason. And if you’ve found your way here, maybe it’s guiding you too.
If you’ve been searching for a deeper connection to yourself—or a way to carry your mindfulness practice into everyday moments—I invite you to experience what these pendants can offer.
The light in me sees and honors the light in you.
With love,
